Apex Tannery has decided to set up an in house effluent treatment plant to meet environmental rules and satisfy global buyers.
According to data from SECEX analyzed by CICB, Brazilian leather exports in December 2025 reached $96.2 million. This was 6.4% higher than the same month last year. It was slightly lower than November with a drop of 0.7%.
A major leather manufacturer from Austria Wollsdorf Leather has filed for insolvency. The move affects 365 employees and around 660 creditors.
Fresh trade data from the French leather industry association Alliance France Cuir shows that total France’s footwear exports including regular footwear and slippers reached €4.45 billion from January to October 2025. This marks a fall of about ~3% year on year.
Government teams are carrying out inspections across Kanpur to make sure every unit follows the order.
