According to official data released by the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) China’s leather industry is facing a challenging first half of 2025 as weak domestic and international demand continues to weigh on businesses.

Bangladesh’s leather sector is once again showing signs of momentum. According to the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), exports of leather, leather goods and footwear reached about $1.14 Billion in FY2024.

The Leather Working Group (LWG) celebrated its 20th anniversary at the 106th Lineapelle fair in Milan on September 24. Since its founding in 2005, LWG has become a key player in improving environmental standards across the leather industry.

Hermès is expanding its presence in France with another new leather goods workshop in L’Isle-d’Espagnac. The site will employ 260 skilled artisans trained in Hermès’ renowned leatherworking techniques.
