CSIR Central Leather Research Institute in India gets a new leader today as Dr P Thanikaivelan steps in as the 15th director, succeeding Dr. K J Sreeram, who completed his 6 year tenure.
On Tuesday 25 November 2025 JBS Couros and the VIVA group announced a major move as they teamed up to form a new leather company called JBS VIVA. Reuters reports that this partnership amounts to a merger of the leather divisions of both companies.
“The union with VIVA opens up new opportunities for all more than 7000 JBS Couros employees who are now part of an even more robust business prepared to compete globally. JBS VIVA means the union of more than 70 years of experience and international recognition”
