During FY 2025-26, India’s exports of leather, leather products and footwear to the UK reached $419.67 million.
Exports included:
- Finished leather worth $593,947
- Leather goods worth $102.2 million,
- Leather garments worth $28.9 million
French leather goods exports reached €3.14 billion during the first quarter of 2026, between January and March, down 4% from €3.29 billion in the same period last year, according to Alliance France Cuir.
During the discussions, participants highlighted the need to improve coordination between technology providers, material suppliers and final product manufacturers. The proposal emerged during the Assomac General Assembly on 18 June 2026 in Milan.

QCI and FDDI Sign MoU to Strengthen Quality and Skilling Ecosystem in Indian Leather and Footwear Sector
The Quality Council of India (QCI) and the Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen quality, testing, accreditation & skill development in India’s leather & footwear industry.
